Enforces the Puyallup Municipal Code by: - Receiving and investigating written complaints related to zoning violations - Addressing property maintenance issues and public nuisances - Responding to concerns regarding illegal land use and home occupations - Enforcing sign code regulations - Promoting public health, safety, and neighborhood livability through education and voluntary compliance - Taking enforcement action when necessary to achieve compliance - Providing information and referrals to appropriate city departments for issues outside the scope of code enforcement, including building code, fire safety, parking, and animal control matters.

Code Compliance officers respond to concerns about: -  Litter on Private Property -  Construction Codes -  Duplexes/Boarding Houses -  Fair Housing -  Home Businesses -  Junk Vehicles -  Land Use Violations -  Noise (Construction noise violations are enforced by the Bellevue Police Department) -  Nuisances -  Recreational Vehicles, Boats, Trailers -  Signs

Enforces the Pasco Municipal Code through education, inspections and formal notices (to those remaining in violation). Common nuisance violations include: - Weeds in excess of 12 inches or weeds growing onto other properties. - Dead/dying landscaping (i.e., lawns, trees, etc.) - Trash covered properties. - Major vehicle repair/disassembling vehicles in residential zones. - Storage of vehicle parts outside an enclosed building or container. - Dilapidated buildings, fences and other structures. - Dust blowing onto neighboring properties. - Construction noise between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. - Graffiti Common zoning violations include: - Incomplete landscaping - Vegetation or unpermitted fences obstructing vision at intersections. - Parking on unimproved surfaces such as dirt or grass. - Too many animals kept on a property. - Unpermitted property uses based on zoning district.
