Trap Neuter Return offered at Humane Society of Mason County
This program where feral cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped and returned to the location where they were found.
Trap-neuter-return (TNR) is a program in which outdoor (feral) cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped and returned to the location where they were found. TNR is the most humane and effective method for stabilizing and eventually reducing outdoor cat populations. Left unsterilized, the feral cats and their offspring would continue to reproduce, potentially introducing thousands of unwanted cats into the community. If you are a caretaker of or know of feral community cats we can assist in getting the cats spayed or neutered so that the cat population does not continue to increase.
