The Adult Outpatient Program provides a broad spectrum of counseling services to adult clients who have mental health issues. This service gives the assistance clients need to reduce or manage their mental health symptoms by improving their coping and daily living skills. Services include individual, family, and group therapy, as well as community support services.

Assists individuals in applying for and receiving appropriate services depending on their level of need.  Triage services ensure that individuals are served in order of presenting need - that is, that those most acutely in need are served first.  Access to services can be accomplished as follows:  *Emergency or Crisis Access * - for anyone who believes they have a need.  Call (360) 385-0321 and identify the need as emergent or urgent, or come to the agency during office hours, M-F, 8am-5pm, and identify the need as emergent or urgent.  *Routine Services* - Call (360) 385-0321 to discuss your needs with a screener, and arrange an evaluation.   *In-patient Treatment Access* - In-patient psychiatric service requests for individuals who have (or may be eligible by reason of a hospitalization for) Medicaid coverage must be pre-authorized. DBH is the Salish BHO East Jefferson County authorizing agent for all Medicaid inpatient services. Contact (360) 385-0321 and ask for the On-Call DCR.  An evaluation will take place and the need for hospitalization will be reviewed; all lesser restrictive or intrusive treatments will be identified and pursued.

The Access Center is the single point of entry for any service at Greater Lakes. A trained mental health specialist will be ready to discuss individual needs and assist in scheduling an appointment at any of Greater Lakes' locations. They also determine when crisis services are needed or when referrals to another community agency or resources are more appropriate.

The Kitsap Recovery Center, located in Port Orchard, provides both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment services.  KRC is state-approved and utilizes the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) treatment criteria. The facility houses 24 inpatient treatment beds and 12 sub-acute detoxification beds. KRC serves primarily low-income and Medicaid-eligible clients. It also accepts clients underinsured through BHASO funding, education and referrals to all county residents.  #### Services include:   - inpatient treatment program (up to 28 days);   - sub-acute detoxification services (up to 5 days)   - Alcohol and Drug Addictions Treatment and Support Services  - case management services   - outpatient chemical dependency treatment   - adult drug court treatment services   - information and referrals.

Drug/Alcohol Assessments, Mental Health Assessments. Conducts an evaluation of people who abuse drugs and/or alcohol to determine the nature and extent of the problem and which may make a recommendation regarding treatment or may refer the individual to a specific program. The service does not include a centralized triage function within the community or a formal relationship with the courts.   Alcohol & Drug Information School State-approved instruction fulfills legal requirements for individuals court-referred to attend an Alcohol Drug Information School (ADIS). The educational, 8-hour course provides students with valuable information about alcohol and other drugs. The course is designed to enhance responsible decision-making with regards to alcohol and other drug use. Students are encouraged to explore the effects of alcohol and other drug use on themselves, their families and their world.   DUI Evaluations Provides a court-ordered assessment of individuals who have been convicted of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol to evaluate the severity of their problem and make a recommendation to the court regarding appropriate treatment.   Outpatient Treatment Provides outpatient substance use disorder services that usually requires fewer than nine hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, a program for family members, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (such as child care, transportation and parenting skills development). Length of service can be anywhere between six months to two years depending on the needs of the individual and/or court order.   Intensive Outpatient Treatment   Provides outpatient substance use disorder services that usually requires 9-20 hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, a program for family members, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (such as child care, transportation and parenting skills development).   Counseling Provides counseling and mental health services to Apple Health (Medicaid) patients. Agency provides state-certified service(s).

Operates a crisis intervention suicide hotline. Trained phone workers assist caller in personal crises by offering emotional support, community resource information, and referral.

Provides a 16 bed Evaluation &Treatment center in a secure setting, designed to provide immediate assistance with acute psychiatric problems. Services include medication management, therapy, milieu treatment, and community referral. All admissions are arranged through the DCR, and hospitals there are no self referrals. Individuals leaving the facility will have assistance with development of a discharge plan designed to sustain and build upon gains achieved while in treatment.

Compass Health provides a broad continuum of counseling services to individuals who have ongoing mental health issues and need assistance in reducing/managing symptoms and improving coping and daily living skills.  Intensity of services is based upon the needs of the individual.  Individual therapy, community support services, case management, psychiatric medication, and group services are available. Provides specialized services for children, youth and families as well as for older adults.   Dawson Place only serves child victims of sexual or physical abuse and their families.   Not all services offered at all locations. Call for more details.  Agency provides DBHR-certified service(s).

Intensive outpatient services are available for those with severe and persistent behavioral health disorders to avoid more restrictive levels of service such as psychiatric inpatient hospitalization or residential placement. Once enrolled, the treatment team is available at any time and especially in crisis situations to support individualized treatment needs.

The Access Center at Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is staffed with individuals possessing a solid clinical background who can provide screening for those requesting services and schedule their first appointment. The purpose of the Access Center is to streamline the admission process and to act as a comprehensive source of information regarding services available. The Access Center is designed to network with professionals in the community, other care providers, clients, family members, and other concerned parties in helping to ensure that Kitsap County residents in need of services are given assistance in a fast, efficient and conscientious manner.

Operates a crisis line to address mental health or substance use crises. Works to reduce distress and develop a plan to safely resolve the crisis at hand. Also offers designated crisis responders and youth mobile outreach services. In-person services include crisis assessments as well as follow-up services, and referrals to outpatient or longer-term treatment services when appropriate.

Operates a crisis hotline to help those who are having suicidal thoughts, are worried about a friend or loved one, or would like emotional support. Provides crisis emergency services and referrals to mental health professionals. Mobile Crisis Intervention Team provides immediate crisis intervention services in the community, or on an in-person basis. Designated Crisis Responders provide crisis intervention services and/or conduct intensive mental health evaluations to determine the need for more intensive mental health treatment.

Operates a 24-hour crisis line. Counselors are available to help manage the crisis by intervention or to support in arranging hospitalization services if needed.
