Offers information on Medigap (Medicare Supplement) and Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid programs, employment-related health benefits, long-term care options, fraud and abuse and more. Answers questions, make referrals, helps evaluate and compare health insurance policies, make public presentations, and more. SHIBA is a free, unbiased, and confidential counseling and education services sponsored by the WA State Office of the Insurance Commissioner.

Explains the differences and options available for those on Medicare. Explain Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements Prescription Drug Plans (Part D). Medicare A & B. Medical and Dental. Apply for various programs a person is eligible for such as Medicare Savings Program (Part B paid) and Extra Help with Prescription Drugs. Also apply and explain health insurance on the WA Healthplan Finder.

Helps customers enroll in Apple Health Medicaid or Qualified Health Plans through WA Healthplanfinder. Helps customers understand their coverage and maintain coverage over time.

Testing includes Rapid HIV Testing (finger poke), HIV antibody testing, and screening for syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and Hep C. For those unable to access Gay City’s in-person services, we also offer At-Home Testing throughout King County. Our health advocates are here to support you through your testing experience and to develop safe sexual health plans.
