Local parishes provide services to families who are pregnant or are caregivers of young children. Offers: - Case management - Weekly support group for women and parents - Financial assistance to help maintain stability - Resource referral - Materials support (clothing, diapers, wipes, etc., as available)

Helps families and individuals connect to available resources. Resources available include housing, health insurance, child care, food assistance programs, and other kinds of services. The services available differ by area. Services are provided at eight regional hubs. Local care coordinators work with a person to help them apply for programs such as unemployment benefits, subsidized housing or child care, food assistance programs such as SNAP or WIC, Apple Health, and more.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF/WorkFirst): -  Provides monthly cash grants and medical assistance to eligible low-income families with minor children in the home. -  Applicants attend a WorkFirst orientation and eligibility interview.   -  Pregnant and parenting minors may be eligible for TANF benefits if they meet additional eligibility requirements, as determined by a DSHS social worker.   -  Adults may also be eligible for WorkFirst support, which will pay for items clients must have in order to look for work, prepare for work or accept a better job. -  Assistance may include transportation, car repairs, interview and work clothes, licenses and tools and equipment.   -  Assistance will be provided via vouchers or pre-paid merchant cards.   Aged Blind and Disabled (ABD): -  Provides financial assistance for people with a long-term or permanent disability, or who are blind, or who are age 65 or older and meet income and resource requirements.     Emergency Assistance: -  TANF, Workfirst, SFA and RCA clients may apply for supplemental financial assistance when faced with an emergency caused by circumstances out of their control.   -  Funding may be approved for rent (EVICTION NOTICES); electric, gas, heating fuel, water/sewer or telephone utility shut-off notices; or deposit move-in costs for homeless individuals and families.   -  Includes Additional Requirements for Emergent Needs (AREN). AREN payments may be made up to a maximum of $750 in a 12-month period.   - Also includes WorkFirst support services, which helps with rent, mortgage, taxes, insurance, utilities, moving costs, all housing-related fees, hookup fees, refundable and non-refundable deposits, and temporary housing for households participating in WorkFirst. Up to $5,000 is available in a 12-month period. Pregnant Women's Assistance: - Provides financial assistance for pregnant women who are not eligible for TANF but meet TANF income and resource requirements. Diversion Cash Assistance (DCA): -  Provides a cash grant program designed to prevent households with children from having to enroll in public assistance, by assisting with living expenses for needs such as: - Housing - Transportation - Child care - Food and employment-related expenses.   Clients may be referred to DSHS non-cash programs such as food stamps. Provides a resource and service center which includes an ASL/deaf culture resource library, special equipment store, public video phone, internet/computer access, and hosts events, workshops, presentations, and a monthly legal clinic. Also offers a variety of services through their community programs, including deaf senior citizen social groups, education and training, business meetings, ASL classes, craft classes, workshops, and case management which includes advocacy, communication assistance, peer counseling, and housing assistance.

Provides a range of addiction and substance use disorder treatment services to support individuals and families to get on the road to recovery from substance use disorders. Includes assessments, DUI evaluations, co-occurring disorders treatment, prevention/education, and outpatient counseling. Pasco and Walla Walla Offices offer the Youth and Family Tree Program, which provides treatment to youth aged between 12-25 years old who are using substances. Uses evidence -based practices to provide treatment and case management to youth and their families. Provides substance use disorder treatment through groups and individuals sessions, mental health treatment to those with co-occurring disorders. Also offers services to family members struggling with substance use.

Provides case management, referrals, advocacy, and supportive services for veterans, service members and their families; focused on creating opportunities related to housing stability, financial stability, healthy living, social engagement, and service system access.   Through a collaborative case management process, the assigned social service professional will help determine the type and levels of services and resources for which one may be eligible.

For example women may receive education on Labor and Delivery, counseling services to help cope with the life changing circumstances that come with a new pregnancy, breastfeeding, and nutrition education. *  Services are offered in: Grandview, Prosser, Spokane, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Wapato, and Yakima.   Infant Case Management: Enables healthcare providers to educate and support women and their family after the baby delivery. Services are provided by a member of the agency's interdisciplinary team. The goal is to improve the parent(s) self-sufficiency in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services. *  Services are offered in: Grandview, Prosser, Spokane, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Wapato, and Yakima.   Maternal Child Health: Enables healthcare providers to address healthcare needs and concerns regarding the child. A professional can assist by visiting the child and mother at home. *  Service is offered in: Yakima County only.   Maternity Case Management: Enables healthcare providers to educate and support women and their family during your pregnancy and after delivery.   Services include: -  Community Health Nurse -  Social Worker -  Community Health Worker -  Registered Dietician Provides personalized home and office visits focusing on the needs and concerns at certain stages of the pregnancy and after delivery.  For example education on Labor and Delivery, counseling services to help cope with the life changing circumstances that come with a new pregnancy, breastfeeding, and nutrition education. *  Services are offered in: Walla Walla, Salem, Portland, and Woodburn, Oregon.

The Refugee Resettlement program is an essential part of helping refugees adjust to living in the Seattle area. A variety of services are offered through this program. As part of the resettlement process, provides all newly arrived refugees with the following services: - Airport Reception - Cultural Orientation - Furnishing the Apartment - Food and Clothing - Medical Screening - School Enrollment - English Classes - Employment Search Assistance

Provides a variety of no cost resource information for people age 60+ and their family caregivers including counseling, memory screening, dementia consultation, fall prevention programs, meals on wheels, legal information such as power of attorney forms, telephone reassurance calls, energy assistance programs, and information about other existing community resources including light medical equipment loan programs in the community. This service also includes DSHS application assistance for programs such as SNAP/food benefits, Medicare Savings Programs, and state of Washington (DSHS) Long Term Care services (COPES, CFC, MAC, TSOA). Adults of any age, who are helping an adult in Kitsap County can also be connected to the Family Caregiver Support Program which provides customized support to help reduce caregiver stress and burnout.

Assists pregnant and parenting mothers struggling with drug and alcohol abuse in obtaining and maintaining substance use treatment, staying in recovery, and other difficult life circumstances that they may experience as a result of their substance use. Works to assure safe, stable home environments for children and ensuring they are receiving appropriate, timely health care. Connects mothers to community resources in order for them to build and maintain healthy, independent family lives and works to prevent future births of alcohol and drug-affected children.

Provides housing stabilization assistance for single-parent families and pregnant women who are in imminent danger of becoming homeless and who live in Maple Valley and cities within a nine-mile radius.   Provides the following services as the family grows to stability:   -  Rent assistance -  Housing case management -  Employment services -  Financial budgeting -  Life skills classes -  Child and youth case management -  Counseling

Program provides low income apartments, rental assistance and more.

Provides support and information to pregnant women who are also on or eligible for Apple Health (Medicaid). Nurses, social workers, and community health workers support expectant mothers before birth and for two months after the birth of the child. Services are all covered by Medicaid, and may include supports like: - prenatal and postpartum education groups - breastfeeding groups - Doula services - transportation assistance during the pregnancy - Hospital tours - Behavioral Health or Chemical Dependency Services - Dental Care and - enrolling in WIC. May also provide information on Safe Sleep and access to cribs. Depending on the needs on the needs of the family, they may also receive Infant Case Management which provides support and guidance until the baby is one-year old. Purpose of the program is to help women have a health pregnancy outcome.

Provides case management and financial assistance for veterans and their families. Assistance includes housing counseling services, health care service advocacy, transportation, employment services, legal services, rent and rental deposit, toiletries and hygiene items, and car repairs.

Supports the social and emotional well-being of children involved in the foster system, as well as the needs of their caregivers and parents. Includes relationship-based counseling, developmental guidance, and ongoing support. Helps develop bonds and create secure attachment relationships between the child, their caregivers, and the child’s parents.

Provides culturally sensitive individual, family and group counseling and youth mental health treatment. Counseling happens onsite, virtually, at schools, home and/or other community settings. Also offers: - Support Groups - Social Skills Classes - Case Management Integrated Cognitive Therapies Program Provides treatment for young people with mental health and substance use disorders. Offers a comprehensive evaluation of mental health and substance use disorders followed by individually tailored treatments.   Treats a range of substance use and psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral problems and other conditions commonly experience by those use substances. Prescribes and manages psychiatric medication and offers continuing care services for those need more support.  Program includes option for family to be involved through Parent Coaching appointments and groups. Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe) Provides intensive mental health services in a wraparound team structure for children and youth involved in more than one system. Team is comprised of significant individuals involved in the participant’s life. Team members include natural supports (family, friends, religious leaders) and the professionals who work with the family (counselors, nurses/doctors, schools, CPS and probation officers). Provide access to crisis services for established patients as needed.

Offers intensive mental health care and team-based case management for youth with complex needs and their families. Looks for community-based options to support multi-system-involved children and youth. Staff members trained in team facilitation meet with a family, listen to their story, help the youth build a team of natural and formal supports, and guide this team through the wraparound process. Team members include natural supports (such as family, friends, and religious leaders) and the professionals who work with the family (such as counselors, schools, Child Protective Services and probation officers).

Connects veterans to needed resources, assisting them in accessing services and navigating the variety of existing programs.   Can help them obtain their DD-214 (proof of having served in the military) and apply for benefits with Veterans Affairs. As needed, they can also help with housing, financial benefits, medical benefits, employment, upgrading discharge, education or other specific issues. Also provides mental health counseling, including military related PTSD and military sexual trauma.

Investigates diseases of public health significance and tracks disease statistics. Receives reports of required notifiable conditions as well as complaints regarding illnesses. Answers general health questions and provides referrals to community resources for immunizations. Provides HIV positive individuals linkages to services, including medical providers, Early Intervention Program, HOPWA, and REACH. Oversees the Tri-Cities Diabetes Coalition, which promotes diabetes awareness and education, lifestyle changes and diabetes risk education.  Counselors are fully trained in meal preparation for the special dietary needs of a diabetic.
