For nearly 35 years, the Y of Greater Seattle has supported foster parents and provided individualized care to children and youth in foster care. We aim to reunite children and families and welcome LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC families, striving for inclusivity. Provides foster home placement for children that have been placed in state care. Evaluates and helps train individuals and couples interested in being foster parents. Also issues licenses for approved foster homes. The Wenatchee offices offers foster care services, but has temporary office space. Call for more details.

Trains and supports individuals and couples to become licensed, long-term foster parents for unaccompanied refugee and immigrant youth; approves host homes to provide affordable housing to unaccompanied refugee and immigrant youth. Youth are primarily teenagers from countries throughout Africa, Asia and Central America.

Youthnet is a child placing agency with a state contract. Youthnet recruits, trains, licenses, and supervises foster homes.  We provide placement for all ages of foster care children. We serve 14 counties in Western Washington.

Provides home recruitment, licensing, placement and support services for foster children and families. Services offered include foster home licensing, advocacy for caregivers, ongoing training, resource referrals, case aid services, cultural activities and Foster Support Night events.

Provides both permanency planning and intensive treatment services to children and families who may need help with chronic problems such as on-going abuse and neglect or intensive medical needs.  

Offers services, training, licensing, and ongoing support for foster and kinship kids and families. Helps parents and foster/kinship caregivers build supportive relationships.

Provides services to find permanent homes for youth, ages 11 through 18, in the custody of Washington state through the foster care system.   Also recruits, trains and supports foster parents.

Recruits and licenses foster parents in Washington state. Offers online foster parent information sessions via Zoom the first Tu of each month. Works with foster parents, the child, birth parents, community agencies and courts to provide daily care and support for each child. Foster families can opt to work with DCYF staff or with a local private agency. Also investigates complaints received on licensed foster homes and foster care agencies.
