Lending of Materials: King County Library System (KCLS) has over 4 million items, 60+ online databases, government documents and reference material, and multilingual resources.   Offers Inter-Library Loans through reciprocal use agreements with several other county library systems.   Material loans can also be procured from libraries throughout the U. S. and in other countries. Programs and Exhibits:   Free programs include musical and dramatic performances, programs relating to job search and writing skills, book groups, investments, parenting and much more. Other activities include author visits and computer classes.   Speakers are available for presentations on a variety of topics relating to library services.   Young Adult and Children's Services:   Specially trained librarians select material and develop programs for children and teenagers.  Offers story times, puppet shows, family nights, classes, summer reading program and video gaming programs for teens.   Offers specialized children's and teen pages on the website.   Complete, current schedule of story times is also available on the website or call the Answer Line at (425) 462-9600.   The Answer Line:  Provides quick answers (calls are limited to 5 minutes) to questions over the telephone.   Subjects include loaned items fines, directory assistance, grammar inquiries and questions pertaining to business, the arts, medicine, government, sports, hard-to-find homework questions and current events.   If unable to answer the question, the line will refer callers to other resources.   Staff can also renew and reserve library materials.   Computer Access:   Offers access to the Internet via branch terminals.   Locations may also offer opportunities to use other software for resumes, newsletters and spreadsheets, as well as hardware such as printers and scanners.   Provides educational software for children.   Voter registration forms are available at all community libraries.   Services available may vary slightly from branch to branch.   Please call for more details and to verify programs.   Printed materials may be available by request in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Marathi, Punjabi, Persian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. Offers drop-in day services for homeless and low-income women; no children.   Provides laundry facilities, toilets and showers, for use through a drop-in sign-up system. Distributes free hygiene items.  -  Showers contain one larger stall for women with disabilities. Offers mental health counseling, usually four days per week, and Health Care for the Homeless nursing services at varying times Monday through Friday.   Provides use of telephones and computers with internet access.   Offers daily meals from morning to afternoon.   Offers information and referral to other services.

Career information and job search assistance is available through individual counseling and workshops.  Career information includes self-assessment and career opportunities. Job Search assistance includes information on applications, interviews, and resume/letter writing.  The Resource Room has a Career Information Library, Job Search Videos, computers, several computer assisted programs, and Internet access for job searches.

Offers a computer lab with 15 workstations with the Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Office. Offers basic computer and Internet classes, drop-in Internet access.

Provides the community free computer access with Wi-Fi and Microsoft Office.

Provides a drop-in center serving hot breakfast and lunches, access to phones and computers, and recreational activities such as art therapy, games, and video-based media. Also provides clothing, showers, mail services, and hygiene supplies. Guests have access to laundry services, massages, acupuncture, foot care, and haircuts on a sign-up basis.

Provides a safe and supervised after school center for children ages 5 and older, to help keep them off the streets. All children are welcome, regardless of home school district; there is no fee to parents.

Offers one-on-one assistance with computers by EGH staff and volunteers. Possible types of assistance include the following:   - Basic computer skills, such as setting up an email or Facebook account. - Job search - Resume writing - Housing search

A community hub where individuals and families can attend programs and workshops, access community resources, connect with others, and receive information and referrals. Services include: fax, copies, printing, free Wifi, public computer access, tele-health kiosk, vaccines, senior services, Head Start, community meals, DSHS and other application support, a health fair on the 3rd Saturday in May 10am-2pm, Trick Or Treat Resource Fair 5-7pm Oct 31st, notary public and more.
