Focuses on participation, network, promotion, training and job referrals.   Program held in Spanish.   Participants also take a health & safety workshop to learn how to: -  Avoid workplace injuries -  Properly use personal protection equipment -  Identify and reduce danger in the workplace This workshop is offered two times per month.   The health & safety workshop is required for those wanting to be hired through CASA Latina's day labor and employment services.

Administers the Jobs for Veteran State Grant program, a nationwide program designed to provide assistance to veterans transitioning from one career to another. Provides counseling, resources, employment connections, community partnership advocacy and virtual tools to assist in meeting the veterans’ preferred transitional career goals. Gives veterans and their spouses priority access to WorkSource services, including the following: -  Job listings, job referrals and hiring events for private sector, city, state and Federal careers -  Job coaching for resume, application perfecting, strategies for success, wage negotiations and interviewing assistance -  Use of computers, photocopiers and phones onsite -  Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources   In addition, the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program provides intensive case management and employment readiness services to transitioning service members, veterans and qualifying spouses with significant barriers to employment.   Local Veterans Employment Representatives Conduct outreach to employers to promote the recruitment and hiring of veterans; partner with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Commerce to implement employer campaigns to hire veterans and inform federal contractors on process and requirements for recruitment of veterans.

The First Year and Career Services offer career exploration and advising to Seattle Central students. We can help: - Explore career opportunities, interests, and academic pathways to get there. - Provide academic guidance to first year and undecided students on class selection and potential areas of study. - Develop resume and cover letter writing skills, & prepare for interviews. - Discuss networking, job search methods, and scholarship resources.

Integrates career planning, job search training and job referral services through college and career centers at several alternative schools and small schools.   Students receive advice on post-high school options, including:   -  Career and technical education -  Preparing cover letters and resumes -  Completing job applications -  College applications/scholarships   -  Selecting colleges    A job-listing service is available for employers who would like to hire students. Offers multiple support, education, and socialization groups. Peer coaches empower people to achieve a solid recovery foundation and achieve life goals. Peer coaches support individuals in recovery from: - Addiction Issues (chemical/behavioral) - Mental Health Challenges (short/long term diagnosis, grief & loss) - Chronic Illness (HIV/Hep C – Newly Dealing/Newly Diagnosed) Peer coaches are individually matched with people seeking support in their recovery. The matched pair meets for one hour per week for 26 weeks. Coaches are individuals in recovery who have reached long-term stability. Peer Employment Connections Offers weekly peer support groups that support participants to address fears and barriers about returning to work or work through obstacles they are encountering in their job. Offers vocational assessments, job search tools, resume building, interview preparation, coaching, benefits planning, employment-related clothing and transportation support, and ongoing support for job retention. Resource Connections Offers individualized support to identify and access a range of community resources such as housing or medical care. Participants meet one-to-one with a peer to help make the linkages to essential supports.

Provides job search & job placement assistance for people who are experiencing homelessness or who are unstably housed. Program includes a full range of individualized employment and support services needed to achieve self-sufficiency and stable housing.

Provides a full range of career search assistance and vocational training for low-income residents in higher-poverty zip codes, designed to reduce poverty and support residents as they embark on their careers in pursuit of equity, dignity, and self-sufficiency. Also includes a randomized Guaranteed Basic Income pilot program, focused on domestic violence survivors.

Will teach how to manipulate a computer and create a document, as well as how to improve typing speed. All levels are welcome. - Mock Interview: Teaches valuable interviewing tips and provides the opportunity to practice frequently in a supportive and realistic environment. - Resume Critique: Provides resume critique and assistance from an employment specialist. Must have an electronic version of your resume, either on a flash drive or within/attached to an email. Must have two job descriptions of jobs you wish to apply to.
