Provides a variety of classes in categories such as physical fitness, recreation, arts/crafts, and education.  Classes vary from quarter to quarter, but generally include the following: Tai Chi; genealogy; financial planning workshops; tole painting; watercolor painting; basic drawing and other art classes; Spanish language; computer classes and natural history classes (e.g., geology, marine ecology).  Classes are open to all ages.

Provides financial management course that covers the topics of: - Goal-setting/Spending Plan; - Banking; - Borrowing Money; - Saving and Investing; - Credit Reports and Scores; - Insurance; - Home Ownership Basics; - Budgeting. Those who attend the class will receive a free Credit Report and Score, and if all the attendance requirements are met, a $25 stipend will be issued. Offers individuals and households the ability to build financial stability and self-sufficiency for their unique situation. Offers these services as part of the Centers for Strong Families network FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER (FOC) SERVICES: 1. Integrated coaching services; - Employment coaching: Job readiness, employment training, and assistance looking for job are essential parts of what is offered at a Financial Opportunity Center site. A job and opportunities for advancement are the platform that supports a family's financial well-being, and employment services are the initial reason many clients begin working with an FOC. - Financial Coaching: helps clients do a better job in how they handle their money. The goal is for a family to examine their savings and spending habits to see if they can make positive changes that improve their credit scores and stabilize and grow their assets. Income Supports access can be crucial for giving a worker the time and income necessary to fulfill training to reach a better paying position and career. Coaches helps clients work through the disjointed network of public benefits and helps individuals access all of the services and supports for which they are eligible. 2. Financial Education: Every individual has a unique situation and the ability to build financial stability and self-sufficiency. Our Financial Education course offers the tools to help you achieve your financial goals. Improving credit, paying off student loans, working to own a home and planning for retirement are some of the many topics covered in our no-cost training for our community. - Tacoma Public Utility low-income customers may qualify to receive up to an $160 credit for completing our Financial Education program and attending a Financial coaching session. 3. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): the VITA program provides free Federal tax return preparation to households with income under $65,000. VITA sites prepare current years taxes by appointment only, and may prepare up to 3 years back tax return upon request and limited by availability. Sin Miedo al Éxito is an economic development program that focuses on supporting individuals with financial literacy, as well as current and potential small business owners within marginalized groups. Homing in on the specific needs of each business or idea, in order to execute a tailored plan that will help their growth.

A one-time group class for individuals who wish to learn more about money management, finances, and budgeting. Class typically lasts for one hour and participants receive a certificate upon completion. No child care is available. Call for dates and times.

Provides education, information, and referral on housing issues, along with financial assistance for homebuyers and homeowners. Services include homebuyer education classes and workshops, financial education, pre- and post-purchase counseling, foreclosure counseling, down payment assistance, renter information, and guidance on maintaining and repairing a home, including home repair loans. Classes are held monthly at Columbia Gorge Community College in Hood River and The Dalles. The program also keeps the public informed about housing trends in the Mid-Columbia region using current statistics.

Bridgeview Resource Center is a community building that houses multiple services through partnering agencies, including housing, employment, financial management, food, educational, health, aging and disability, and crisis services. The following agencies offer services on site: Vancouver Housing Authority, Council for the Homeless, WorkSource, Partners in Career, Goodwill Job Connections, Clark County Food Bank, Rivermark Community Credit Union, Save First Financial Wellness, Ways to Work, Columbia River Mental Health Services, The National Alliance on Mental Health, Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, Clark College, Educational Service District 112, Vancouver Public Schools, Evergreen Public Schools, Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Washington, Friends of the Children, Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities, and YWCA/SafeChoice.

Provides counsel to new and existing businesses through personalized trainings and workshops. Assists with business and marketing plans and financial proposals and provides market research assistance.

Addresses the needs of children, parents, and families by offering support groups, education, as well as special programs for foster youth and teens. - Parent Support Classes: offering support groups and classes for parents and families to help educate and support as they're raising their children. Includes: 7 to 10-week Parenting Skills Classes for parents/caregivers of children, 0-18 years of age; and 4-hour Co-Parenting Seminars required by the courts to support parents who are going through divorce or separation and have minor children. - Kinship Navigator: provides services to enhance the ability of relatives to provide safe, stable, and a nurturing environment for the children in their care. Services include legal referral regarding custody, financial assistance to reach basic needs, parent education & training, support group, assistance in applying for federal and state subsidies, help with child care, help in navigating through the education system, and information on medical dental, and mental health services. - Foster Teen Programs: assists youth in acquiring the skills they need in order to live and function effectively on their own. These include interpersonal skills, money management, housing, work and vocational skills.

Creates opportunities with the Farmworker community which empower Farmworkers to be a voice for their community’s concerns and to inform and educate the wider community about these concerns. Provides programs and services for advocacy, adult education, community events, and workshops for children.

Offers a wide range of vocational training programs and services. Programs include: GED instruction and support, work skills training, digital literacy certification, financial literacy and second chance banking, computer skills training, and work-based learning. Services include internships, work evaluation placement, individual support employment for people with disabilities, and a senior employment program.

Provides financial literacy courses. Program participants have access to an on-site food pantry. Participating households are required to monthly complete a 2-hour volunteer shift.

Helps provide financial security for women and their families in King County through classes, coaching and training.   Classes include:   Hope & Power for Your Personal Finances: This 10-week class supports survivors of domestic violence to become financially independent and build confidence in their own skills. Topics covered include: -  Safety planning and goal setting -  Budgeting and savings -  Checking and bank accounts -  Credit reports and scores -  Avoiding predatory lenders -  Taxes and legal issues -  Protecting yourself with insurance -  Housing, education, employment   Money Mechanics Workshop: Free 5-week workshop for anyone who feels like their finances could use a tune-up, especially people who are low-income, unemployed or currently or recently homeless. Over four sessions, learn new skills and gain a new understanding of your finances, including: -  Unmasking the mysteries of credit -  Debt management -  Budgeting and banking -  Goal setting -  Saving and investing Includes one-on-one coaching with a certified financial coach, and a two-to-one matched incentivized savings program.

Bundles together employment coaching, financial coaching, and access to public benefits through comprehensive case management for economically vulnerable households throughout Pierce County. Service is based on established research on the most affective services.

Assists with criminal record and eviction expungement, job development, workplace training, financial literacy, felony rights, and reentry training. May be able to provide program participants with supplies such as personal protective equipment and a desktop computer.

Provides childbirth education, newborn care classes, safe sleep workshop, breastfeeding workshop/support, and other classes which vary by season.
