YVC offers English Language Acquisition classes, which is the study of English by non- or limited English-speaking adults who want to learn English. Classes combine listening, speaking, reading, and writing with an emphasis on listening and speaking skills. Classes are offered in various​ locations throughout the Yakima Valley and online with both daytime and evening options.

Offers highly successful, integrated ESL classes designed to meet the language needs of the immigrant community. Courses include language, writing, mathematics, reading, history, and science.

An instruction for non-native English speakers. There are six state levels of instruction and they are directly tied to competencies in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Job readiness as well as retention and advancement in the workplace is a component of all ESL instruction. Computer literacy and ESL specific software programs are part of all curricula.

Our employment and adult education services connect community members with meaningful employment at livable wages and other opportunities to build critical skills. Employment case managers and economic empowerment coaches help set goals and viable steps to achieve them. We also team up with local community colleges and other partners to connect individuals to vocational training, internship programs, and help with job placement.

Provides comprehensive post-secondary and continuing education programs, including adult basic education, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, parenting classes, vocational education, and many other programs.

We offer free classes for practicing English skills for daily life, work, and citizenship in our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes. Join one of our free English Circle conversation groups to practice with others learning English. Mango Languages is an interactive tool offers more than 70 languages, including English, for children and adults.

Information, resource referrals and direct services related to health, youth, education, employment, housing, legal aid, basic necessities, identification documents, transportation safety, and advocacy for immigrant community members. Offers ESL classes to adults at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.   Conversation, pronunciation, reading, writing, grammar are taught in a combined skills core class with special emphasis on the skills for survival English and employment-related English. Teachers will help students choose specific skills to supplement their core classes. Classes lead students toward college and career readiness. Classes are offered both day and evening on the main campus, at the New Holly Learning Center, and on the Georgetown campus.

Our ESL program is offered year-round in two increments: 10 weeks during the school year and 5 weeks over the summer. Twice a week, native English speaking and bilingual instructors gather with our clients to teach conversational English in context-focused classes. Classes emphasize social interaction and language skills for specific situations in a safe learning environment. Clients practice language useful for job-seeking and managing other life tasks. This runs hand-in-hand with our citizenship and naturalization classes that focus on American history, government, and social studies. Classes help students learn English to improve vocabulary and daily communication. In addition, students will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding about the American culture. Additionally, in our citizenship class, Vietnamese refugees, immigrants, and Vietnamese Americans assist with the application process, citizenship test and interview, while also strengthening their English skills.  The 10-week citizenship classes provide practical instruction in order to pass citizenship exams. Topics will vary, tailored to match the needs of the participants, and will include American history and government, civics and social responsibility. Each class provides at least one native English speaker and one bilingual English and Vietnamese speaker with clients, placing an emphasis on conversation practice and social interaction. Volunteer tutors serve as facilitators to help each client reach their particular goals.

Offers a multi-level Limited English Proficiency (LEP) class for anyone wanting to learn or improve their English proficiency. Class includes learners from a wide range of levels, from beginning to advance, who are placed together in a single group.

Offers morning English classes to Spanish-speakers beginning mid-September through May of every school year. Teaches levels 1-3; call for more information on times and days. Participants with children from ages 2 to 5 years receive free preschool education during the classes.

Provides individual or group tutoring on English as a Second Language on site, virtually, and at selected locations provided by community partners, such as libraries. Students, tutors and staff work together to design lesson plans appropriate for the goals of the student.

Offers Associate and Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees, and a wide variety of professional certificates. Over 90 program options and various classes are available, including Basic Education for Adults, English as a Second Language, testing services, and non-credit corporate and continuing education courses. Disability Support Services helps support students requiring accommodations to academic programs and activities. Hosts an Early Learning Center, offering state-licensed childcare services for students and employees.

Offers Adult Basic Education programs that include classes for: basic computer skills and Microsoft Office, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), high school GED, writing and math, college entrance preparation. Also offers job search assistance.

The Transitional Studies Program provides instruction in reading, math, writing, and basic computer skills. It offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, as well as pathways to earning a GED or high school diploma. Classes are offered in Forks, Port Angeles, and Sequim, with online options.

Adult English classes for people for whom English is not a first language. Registration is required for Fall and and Winter/Spring sessions. Classes are online during the Covid pandemic. During the summer, there is a smaller program with classes one evening per week.

Offers parenting education, including Kaleidoscope Play and Learn parent/child activity groups. Other classes include: - Toddler Gym - CPR for infants/adults - Life Skills - Cooking and Nutrition - K-12 Tutoring. Offers support groups and workshops for Latino families.  Facilitates support groups to increase family's social support and decrease family isolation.   Also offers family advocacy, application assistance along with information and referral to a variety of other services.

Offers multiple pre-college programs. Adult Basic Education for adults who may have experienced educational gaps, missed the opportunity to develop certain skills or missed necessary steps in their education. Students may work on basic reading, writing and mathematics, career exploration and college readiness skills.   ESL offers six levels of English and additional support classes. General Education Development helps students prepare for the four-part GED test. Successful completion of the four-part test (Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies) earns a GED certificate. GED certification is equivalent to a high school education and is usually accepted in place of a diploma.   High School Completion provides an opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma in a college setting, substituting college classes for remaining high school requirements. College level classes may be taken to fulfill both high school and college degree requirements at the same time.
