CHAS Health Patient Services Coordinators (PSCs) are available to help individuals enroll in health insurance and understand their coverage. PSCs are certified navigators for the Washington Health Plan Finder, and enrollment counselors for Your Health Idaho state health insurance marketplaces. PSCs help individuals apply for Medicaid, Qualified Health Plans, and other applicable assistance programs.

Provides free and unbiased counseling and information on health insurance issues such as: -  Assessing health care coverage needs -  Determining general eligibility for health care coverage programs -  Evaluating and compare health insurance plans and programs -  Providing enrollment help with Medicare -  Speaking with 1-800-MEDICARE on clients' behalf -  Making referrals to other agencies and programs -  Collecting and reporting possible fraud complaints Also offers the Community Based Care Coordination program which provides coordination of services to Medicaid and Medicaid-eligible clients. The program supports clients with improving quality of life, help managing multiple care providers, assistance in getting appointments, identifying helpful community resources, connecting to available benefits.

SHIBA provides free, unbiased, and confidential help with Medicare to people of all ages and backgrounds. Advisors can help assess Medicare related health care coverage needs; determine general eligibility for health care coverage programs, including- Medicare Savings Programs and Low-Income Subsidy/Extra Help prescription drug copay; evaluate and compare Medicare plans and programs; provide enrollment help with Medicare; speak with 1-800-MEDICARE on your behalf; refer to other agencies and programs; collect and report possible Medicare fraud complaints.

Offers various opportunities for the community to come together. These programs contribute to a healthy community by providing social connection, lifelong learning, exercise, and nutrition. Some of these programs/activities include free meals, art classes, fitness classes, card playing groups, and more. Most of these programs are free. Provides a variety of no cost resource information for people age 60+ and their family caregivers including counseling, memory screening, dementia consultation, fall prevention programs, meals on wheels, legal information such as power of attorney forms, telephone reassurance calls, energy assistance programs, and information about other existing community resources including light medical equipment loan programs in the community. This service also includes DSHS application assistance for programs such as SNAP/food benefits, Medicare Savings Programs, and state of Washington (DSHS) Long Term Care services (COPES, CFC, MAC, TSOA). Adults of any age, who are helping an adult in Kitsap County can also be connected to the Family Caregiver Support Program which provides customized support to help reduce caregiver stress and burnout.

Provides assistance with premium costs, copayments, deductibles and coinsurance for Medicare.

Provides trained volunteers who educate, assist, and serve as advocates for people with Medicare. SHIBA volunteers help people with Medicare understand their rights and options for health insurance so that they can make informed decisions. Through volunteers trained by the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, individuals receive one-on-one consultation on Medicare, including advocacy on their behalf with Medicare providers, explanations of billing received, and referral to other appropriate services.
