Emergency assistance is geared towards sustainable positive outcomes for eligible veterans. Service officers are knowledgeable, skilled and have relationships with area partners who together with their services will often be successful in forming comprehensive and lasting solutions for clients.

Provides employment related assistance to Businesses, Veterans and other eligible persons. Services includes but are not limited to; job development, business relations, job counseling, job search assistance, job referral and placement. Veteran staff regularly advise groups in the community, including employers, labor unions and veterans' organizations, of Veterans eligible for employment, as well as connecting Veterans to job openings.

Assists with career development, resume assistance, job search, job placement and retention services.   Social service professionals help clients access community employment services when appropriate.   Employment-related financial services may also be available, such as helping to obtain the following: -  ID -  Tools -  Clothing -  Bus tickets (to interview and to job after hire) -  Haircut

Provides information on veterans benefits and services, information on apprenticeship, and employment assistance with one-on-one career guidance. May also have funds available to help veterans enrolled in the program remove barriers to employment which may include: Transportation: - gas card, auto insurance, auto repair, orca pass, car payment Housing Related Needs: - cable, garbage bill, gas bill, internet, last month rent, first month rent, sewer bill, water bill, electric bill, mortgage Miscellaneous: - cell phone bill, child care, food, home phone bill, work clothing, A separate fund may help enrolled veterans experiencing homelessness with: - gas card, auto insurance, auto registration, drivers license fee, orca pass - certifications, food, work tools, sleeping bags, shoes, work clothing.

Matches employers to job seekers by providing employment services.   Services include job readiness workshops, job skills trainings, job placement services and job retention services.   Offers these services through direct referral and coordination of city, county, state and federal programs.   Also offers employer services, including screening of potential applicants, supervisory training and outplacement services.   Programs include the following employment services. Not all services offered at all locations:   Community Jobs Initiative (CJI)   Offers paid (minimum wage) internships to job seekers looking to build skills for employment.   Participants must currently receive TANF cash assistance of DSHS - Community Services Office.   This program is implemented through extensive partnerships among state agencies (including DSHS, Employment Security, and the Board of Community and Technical Colleges).    Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Placement Services (DVR).   Provides vocational assessment, internship development, and monitoring and job placement services for adults with disabilities who are referred by DSHS - DVR counselors. Limited English Pathway Placement Services   Offers job readiness workshops, job placement services, skills trainings, and job retention and county wage progression services as well as English language class referrals for King and Snohomish adults with limited English. Participants must be at least 18 years old and either a refugee with documentation or currently receive TANF cash assistance from DSHS - Community Services Offices.   This is a program of DSHS and the Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance (ORIA).    Veterans Administration Placement Services Employment and training assessment, job placement and job retention services for service connected disabled veterans referred by the Veterans Administration. Contact Harriet Klein (206) 443-9999 for more information.    Workers Compensation Services  Provides vocational assessment, vocational plan development, and monitoring of vocational training programs for injured workers referred by Washington State Labor and Industries Department, including the Office of Workers Compensation Programs.     Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult Services/Dislocated Worker Services. Provides job readiness workshops, job placement services, vocational training, and job retention services for adults.

State employment offices help veterans find work by providing free job counseling, testing, referral and placement services.   Veterans are given priority in the referral of job openings and training opportunities.   The Workforce Investment Act (WIA), formerly Job Training Partnership Act (JPTA), provides for a national job training program for veterans with disabilities, Vietnam-era veterans and recently separated veterans. Job training programs may be conducted through public agencies or private non-profit agencies.

Provides help to veterans in accessing VA and community services. Services may include short-term case management, onsite primary care, access to medical, mental health, and substance abuse treatment, and access to VA housing programs, including Grant and Per Diem program, HUD/VASH, Veterans Recovery House and Supportive Service for Veteran Families (SSVF) if found eligible. These grants do not provide immediate assistance, are sometimes one-time, and may include case management. Help with finding market rate or subsidized housing or linkage to community housing programs. Assistance with expediting VA Benefit claims and access to employment programs such as Supported Employment, Veterans Reintegration program, and State employment. Access to computers, clothing, and hygiene items is available onsite.

Offers a program designed to serve veterans who have left active duty due to medical issues and service-connected disabilities. The program provides "extended evaluation" services leading to integrated community employment or help for individuals to live more independently. Depending upon the individual needs of the participant the services may include vocational skills training, confidence-building, endurance development, career discovery, social skills training, and group discussion.

WorkSource teamed up with Monster.com to create a powerful new job-match site for both employers and job seekers to connect. Website allows access to many resources, such as: - job listings and advanced job search tools, - worker retraining benefits and assistance finding programs, - orientations on site to train on navigating the WorkSource website, - information on workshops (i.e., FAFSA financial aid sign up, small business planning, job clubs etc.) and hiring events in the area, - information on job training programs through affiliates, - find local drop-in sessions in the area at WorkSource connection sites to assist with resumes, cover letters, job search strategies etc., - links to many career exploration websites and more.

Provides assistance with housing, rent and utilities, re-employment services, VA healthcare navigation, food, information and referral, and other support services. Connects veterans to community resources to help meet their needs.

Helps veterans find jobs based on their prior military experience. Veteran employment specialists assist veterans with disabilities and other employment barriers by assessing skills and interests and preparing an employment plan. Offers the following services prioritized for veterans and their spouses: - Job listings, job referrals and hiring events - Resume, application and interviewing assistance - Use of computers, photocopiers and phones - Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources

Provides veterans with financial assistance to help them find a home, remain in their home, obtain a job, or remain employed. Emergent basic needs are generally those required to survive, such as housing, heat, medicine, food, and to ensure the safety of the veteran and their eligible family members. Funds are disbursed by Kitsap Community Resources. Veteran Service Officers are available to help veterans file disability claims with Veterans Affairs.

A local veterans employment specialist and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) specialists are available to assist the veteran population.  Job referral and placement assistance are provided to veterans.

Financial Management Available by appointment. Legal Assistance Available the 2nd and 4th W from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Nutrition Assistance Food Bank available every day during normal business hours. Lacey Vet Center - Outstation Counselors are available by appointment only. Services include individual, group, marriage/family, couples, bereavement, military sexual trauma and PTSD counseling. All counseling services are free and confidential. Veterans Housing Options Group - VHOG Provides information on housing resources for veterans who are experiencing homeless, or are at high risk for experiencing homelessness. Includes information on VA, WDVA, SSVF (Supportive Services for Veteran Families), Sidewalk, Family Support Center, Salvation Army and WorkSource.

WorkSource Spokane houses a resource center called "The WorkSource Hub". The Hub provides the ability to research employers, industries and labor market trends, utilize career software to assess your skills and interests, create and update resumes and cover letters, and post your resume online. The Hub is staffed with WorkSource Professionals who are dedicated in finding your next career.

Serves as the portal for the veterans of Snohomish County regarding any matter that impacts a veteran or their family, including personal hardship, lack of medical care coverage, or exploration into federal VA benefits or programs. Provides limited emergency financial assistance to veterans and their dependents in accordance with basic eligibility requirements.
