A Matter of Balance is an award-winning class designed for those who have fallen or who have a fear of falling. Taking this class will not only help participants view falls as controllable and make lifestyle changes to reduce falls, but it will also increase their strength and balance. Participants will become more empowered when it comes to preventing falls and their consequences.

Converted the Franklin Street Day Center to a sleeping area seven days a week. Doors open at 7:30 pm for men and women. Well mannered and controlled pets welcome. Men sleep in one area, women in another area. Foam mats and sleeping bags provided. Only requirement is to be a good neighbor to fellow "campers." Lights out a 9pm, wakeup call is at 4:30am. May also provide limited financial assistance to those facing eviction or behind on their rent. May also provide gas vouchers.

Provides information and referral to health care providers for low-income adults and children living in King County. Includes providers of obstetrics, pediatrics, dental care and women's health care. Maintains lists of for-profit medical and dental clinics that accept Medicaid.

Office based, community health clinic that offers MAT services. Able to prescribe Suboxone and Vivitrol. Can accept 2 new patients a week with private insurance, and 2 new patients a week with Apple Health/Medicaid. Can be referred to behavioral services such as individual and group counseling.

A free telephone reassurance program that provides regularly scheduled calls to clients to address health concerns and reduce isolation. Volunteers check on the client’s well-being and provide helpful resources.

Provides dental hygiene care in the form of cleanings, fillings, x-rays, etc by students. The program is available to low-income individuals who are unable to visit a dentist at normal rates. A dentist and trained professionals are on staff to over-see students work. *No extractions, dentures, bridges, or crowns*

Provides showers and laundry facilities weekdays from 10am-4pm. Will provide basic hygiene supplies such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste and tooth brushes to those who need them to use the laundry/shower.

Helps King County residents enroll in the King County Prescription Discount Card Program, which allows participants to save money on prescription medicine not covered by insurance. Residents can show the card at the pharmacy to receive an average of 24% off the retail price of prescription medicine. No annual limits placed on use. Participants can also save money on prescription medicine for their pets if the medication is also used to treat human conditions.

A supplemental nutrition and food assistance program for pregnant and post-partum women, infants, and children under age 5. Offers nutrition and health assessments, education, breastfeeding counseling, vouchers for specific nutritious foods, referrals to other social programs and access to medical care assistance.

Provides family medical services that include laboratory, pharmacy, X-Ray, and walk-in clinic at the Wenatchee location. Services also include: general family care, women's health, midwifery and prenatal, pediatrics, dental, and nutrition services.

Provides volunteers who can assist with door-thru-door transportation for low-income seniors, 55 and older, or adults with disabilities. Transportation is provided by screened and trained volunteer drivers in their personal vehicle. Rides must originate in Pierce County. Rides depend on volunteer availability. Does not qualify for services if: - Going to/from a Medicaid appointment (Medicaid Beneficiaries may receive services to appts not covered by Medicaid - Chiropractor, Eyeglass, pet care, etc; or possibly if Medicaid rides have been denied or are not covered) - Using a wheelchair (unless they fold and can be placed in the trunk and client can transfer themselves) - Living in a Group Home - Living in a Assisted Living Facility - Living in a Care Facility - Receiving COPES - Has a paid Caregiver - Client can use Transit, has own car, or lives with family member who has car. **Exception: Volunteer Services can fill in if family has one car and family member works full time which doesn't allow for client to receive rides** **Examples of Exceptions: client has temporary disability and cannot drive, or if client is at risk due to COVID, they can be considered “disabled” and not forced to take transit** Volunteer Services can provide rides for: COVID-19 Vaccines Medical Appointments Grocery Shopping Meal Sites Foodbank (Notate if clients are currently signed up and actively going to a particular food bank) Prescription Pick Up Dialysis – Limited Pet Care Appointments Senior Centers Bank Church YMCA Stores COVID-19 Vaccine: Volunteer Services provides rides to receive a Covid-19 Vaccine. Client must be going to an appointment at a vaccination site or a drive thru site. Volunteers drivers are able to wait in long lines or drive thru vaccination sites with the client. Volunteer Services will need the data and time of the appointment, the location, and if it is a drive thru or an appointment at a facility. Medical Appointment: Volunteer Services provides rides to medical appointments, including Dental, Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Eyeglass, etc. Any appointment that is not Medicaid covered. *Possible exceptions to Medicaid Appointments: Client denied Paratransit/not receiving any other transportation. Will need explanation notated. Dialysis: Volunteer Services can serve as a supplemental transportation option for trips to and from dialysis. These trips will need prior notice to ensure driver availability. Medical Appointments involving Sedation: Volunteer Services can provide a ride to a client who has been under sedation and is accompanied by an attendant. The attendant must take on the liability for the client and be the one to accompany the client to the appointment. Drivers are not allowed to attend an appointment or procedure with a client. Picking up Prescriptions: Volunteer will take clients to pharmacies. Grocery Shopping and Food Banks: Volunteers will take clients to grocery stores and food banks. Volunteers may provide contactless grocery shopping/food bank pick up if requested, but not guaranteed. Dependent upon driver availability. (Notate if clients are currently signed up and actively going to a particular food bank). Pet Care Appointment: Animal in a carrier the whole time unless it’s a service animal. General Errands/Community Functions: Church, YMCA, Senior Centers, Meal Sites, Bank, Stores, Types of Ride Services EXPANDED due to Covid-19: Medical Appointments for Dialysis: Volunteer Services can serve as a supplemental transportation option for trips to and from dialysis. These trips will need prior notice to ensure driver availability. ***Everyone who qualifies for Volunteer Services is encouraged to apply in any case. Volunteer Services will be able to determine what they can do after receiving the intake from 211 and having a discussion with the client.

Increases access to dental care throughout King County for children who have WA Apple Health (Medicaid). Once enrolled, provides assistance in finding a dentist that will fit location, timing and language preferences and assists in coordinating transportation and interpreter services. Website also provides lists of participating dentists by geographic area and includes Public Health dental clinics, community dental clinics and participating private dentists throughout King County. Additionally provides assistance in helping uninsured adults find low-cost dental services.

Provides specialty behavioral health for adults. Professionals provide services that meet the needs of the individual and respect their desires and values for treatment. Services include evaluation, counseling, group session therapy, medication evaluation, and management.

Para-Transit is a wheelchair-accessable transportation service for individuals whose disability prevents them frim using the regular fixed route buses. This means that a person must be unable, because of disability, to get to or from the bus stop, get on or off a lift or ramp equipped bus, or successfully travel by bus or form the destination. Para-Transit is available to anyone in our community that is elderly or low income that can't afford transportation to medical, dental, or social service appointments.

Aging & Long Term Care helps older adults and adults with disabilities live at home independently through in-home care and case management services. We offer Case Management (CM) to assist older adults and adults living with disabilities set up a safe plan of care to maintain independence. Persons on CM receive help from a caregiver (for help with personal tasks such as bathing, transportation, light housekeeping, dressing, and more), receive annual assessments to determine the best pathway of care, and have access to other programs to help them remain safe and happy at home. Upon referral, a RN Consultant can also provide medical assessment, educate caregivers on client specific information, consults and coordinates with the client care's team (such as physicians, social workers, and others), and evaluates clients skin conditions, nutrition, hydration, disease process, response and tolerance of medication and more.
