Program Hours: We offer full-day options with extended day childcare and part-day options without childcare. Hours vary by center. Benefits: Early Head Start and Head Start provides children with activities to build school readiness skills. The programs set the foundation for future academic success in literacy, math, the arts, science and social interactions. The Early Head Start and Head Start staff recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. Para-Transit is a wheelchair-accessable transportation service for individuals whose disability prevents them frim using the regular fixed route buses. This means that a person must be unable, because of disability, to get to or from the bus stop, get on or off a lift or ramp equipped bus, or successfully travel by bus or form the destination. Para-Transit is available to anyone in our community that is elderly or low income that can't afford transportation to medical, dental, or social service appointments.

Children enjoy activities based on a planned curriculum with individualized attention and lessons that meet their specific learning goals. Families are supported by advocates who help the family develop goals and connect them with resources.

Provides trained volunteers to provide free counseling to consumers on Medicare, supplements to Medicare, Medicaid programs, long term care insurance, medical bills, and options in the individual marker. Also, will be providing outreach and education about Medicare Part D in Spokane and Whitman counties.
The Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) can help you understand your Medicare rights and options. SHIBA volunteers provide free, confidential, unbiased counseling and outreach to consumers on Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, Supplement plans and Prescription drug plans, Medicaid programs to assist with costs of Medicare, and educate on Medicare fraud for Spokane and Whitman Counties. SHIBA is part of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner’s consumer protection services.
